Aonax wallet signs with a leading Qatari bank — tap-to-pay with its cards across the Middle East
On 20 October 2026 Aonax signed a contract with a leading Qatari bank. Under the agreement, the bank's cardholders in the Middle East will be able to add their cards to Aonax-powered NFC wallets and pay with a tap of their phone or watch.
About the bank
Our partner is a leading bank in Qatar and one of the largest financial institutions in the Middle East, with a presence across the region and beyond.
What the agreement covers
- Binding the bank's cards into Aonax-powered NFC wallets on phones — cardholders add a card by entering its details manually in the wallet app
- Smartwatches included: the same cards can be added to the watch, provisioned separately from the phone
- Tokenized payments: the real card number never leaves the bank — the wallet holds a token protected by our secure key management
- Contactless acceptance at any terminal that takes the card scheme, across the Middle East
Built on a certified wallet
The project runs on the Aonax Seed Wallet, certified for PCI DSS, Mastercard MDES and Mastercard DAC. Because those certifications are already in place, a bank can bring its cards to phones and wearables far faster than building and certifying a wallet from scratch.
It builds on our earlier Middle East launch, where a leading phone brand's Mastercard channel went live on phones and wearables alike. Learn more about the Aonax Seed Wallet.
