SoftPOS Level 3 testing completed for Visa, Mastercard, JCB and American Express
Working on site with a leading Chinese payment provider, Aonax has completed SoftPOS Level 3 (L3) testing for four international card schemes — Visa, Mastercard, JCB and American Express. The final test cases were completed on 19 October 2026.
About the partner
Our partner is a leading Chinese payment service provider, offering merchants and chain brands a single platform for bank cards, mobile wallets and QR payments.
What was tested
Level 3 testing proves that a complete acceptance solution — the SoftPOS app and kernel on a commercial Android phone, together with the acquiring host — behaves exactly as each card scheme requires in real end-to-end transactions.
- Four international schemes tested: Visa, Mastercard, JCB and American Express
- Online authorization (ARQC) and Online PIN entry on the phone screen, above the CVM Required Limit
- Contactless transaction limits, cardholder verification and approval messages
- Scheme-defined test cases run on an accredited L3 test tool, with card (APDU) logs validated case by case

What it means for merchants and acquirers
With L3 testing done for these four schemes, the partner's merchants can accept international cards and mobile wallets on an ordinary NFC Android phone — no extra card reader to buy or maintain. For other acquirers and payment providers, it is another proof point that Aonax's SoftPOS can take a project from integration through scheme testing quickly.
